Yeah your are correct, the problem lies in that you gain very little reputation now it seems even with the boost in rep. That's the only thing that bugs me but other then that you are right about just grinding through to 25 with a faction.

I offer that solution in mocking jest. Who's got the time to grind out 3 faction exotics and max them out? I'd say 11% of the population will complete that very task. The exotic class item should get a pass on the faction allegiance requirement.

That's pretty much true, I'd only go for honestly one and settle with it instead of grinding for the others.

For me, none of them are appealing. Knowing that they inadvertently strong arm you into sticking with the faction makes it even less appealing

Exactly, which makes me wish they weren't restricting you to stay with one faction entirely just to wear it. If they weren't then I would be happy to wear them anytime I want.
