"The only thing worse than losing a hero... is watching him turn against us."
English
-
only 343 would do that
-
And I think it's awesome.
-
dat ur-didact parallel tho
-
What about the Didact?
-
He used to be this great hero for the forerunners, before the Gravemind got a hold of him and turn him against them. The master chief is a lot like the didact.
-
You're thinking of Mendicant Bias, the war AI
-
No I am thinking of Didact. Gravemind got a hold of both of them, and is the reason why the didact is so genocidal in Halo 4. He started slaughtering humans in ancient times, so the Librarian had to imprison him.
-
He hated humans because he thought they were unworthy to uphold the Mantle. He was also butthurt because of the Human-Forerunner war. He saw humanity as the greatest threat in the galaxy.

Edited by SrgtSilver: 10/3/2015 3:36:21 PMHe hates humans because of the Human-Forerunner war. He was the general and saw billions of his lost. He saw humans glassing his planets not knowing they were cleansing them of the parasite. His hate for humans was because of war, not corruption by the grave mind. In fact, he barely spent time in its presence. Mendicant bias was tasked with understanding it and became corrupted and fought the forerunners.

"The Didact, completely immobilized in stasis by a powerful grappler field, was taken to a Flood-controlled ship and confronted by the Gravemind, recognized by the Didact as the same intelligence as the Primordial, which he had interrogated ten thousand years prior. The Gravemind invaded the Didact's mind and inflicted upon him unspeakable mental torment in a process described by the Didact as more of a malediction than a conversation. However, the Gravemind did not intend to kill or infect the Didact, instead turning the Forerunners' greatest warrior into an unwitting pawn to sow chaos in the remains of the ecumene."

Might I ask you what book that is from? Mostly due to the whole "primordial from 10,000 years prior" part. Least you forget he was then locked inside stasis for 10,000 years before Master Chief released him. His hate for humans was already burning strong before the events you just quoted, which I'm taking a guess in that they were much more recent.

And no this qoute is not more recent, it transpired before the halo array was fired by the iso didact

Alright. I'll take a look. I simply do not recall ever hearing that information is all. No harm no foul intended between our conversation. I have just always known Mendicant Bias the one who was converted by the primordial and fought against the forerunners and the when the primordial showed several forerunner scientists it's thoughts, they killed themselves.

The primordial was a gravemind aswell so all its knowledge was part of the hivemimd. So when the gravemind of the forerunner-flood had captured Ur didact it spoke with the same knowledge as the primordial.

I get your comparison though it seems no one else does lol.
