There are a number of people unhappy. It is possible a class action will be in place.
Based on the fact the original purchase of Destiny and the game paid for has been taken away and the game types are now limited unless you pay for Taken King. An exact % of game removed is being calculated and compensation should match

Can you still play the story of year 1? Can you still use the same gear? Can you still do the raids from year one? Is there still the option to play the year 1 strikes? Sounds like you can still play the game.

Class action for what? You agreed to the EULA stating they(Bungie) can modify/change their game as they want without notification.

Edited by RedPhoenix HD: 10/2/2015 6:29:56 PMIt's no different than when pieces of the game required HoW or TDB content, you couldn't play those either unless you shelled out for the expansions. As also noted, you can't do certain pieces without certain levels either, and again, just as with other pieces, if you didn't qualify you couldn't play. The new cap comes with the expansion just like always. If you just have Destiny you can play the base game pieces. If you have the expansions, you can play those pieces, if you have TTK you can play those pieces There's no case here. People just need to stop complaining about not be able to play for free.

If you read my comment and do a little research, you'll learn that there is a case because content from the original game and the first two expansions are no longer accessible at all or are only accessible with The Taken King. I and others like me are not upset because we cannot play for free; I've put a hundred dollars into this game. We're upset because we feel like paying for content twice is unethical and wrong.
-
Just because you deem it unethical and wrong doesn't mean it's against the law. That's why companies have a EULA. It's pay to keep playing, almost like a monthly subscription. You're not paying twice either, you're making a separate $40 dollar transaction. Also there is still playable content without TTK, so for you to say you lost 100% of that content is a lie. People complaining about this need to go dig the EULA and read it, you'll understand why a case won't work.
-
There is no case. Read the EULA which nobody ever reads. They cover themselves like any good company. Bungie is a massive company. They aren't dumb enough to do something illegal because people will notice. Sorry man but there really is no case. I just don't want you to waste your time
-
But but it's a FACT there is a case!!!! Remember?????
-
There is case. Fact. The only question now is the actual % of removed content that was originally paid for. I'm no lawyer so I cant explain what laws or anything it falls under, but yes there is a case. I've had a solicitor believe there was and to confirm it was then passed onto a barrister who had a team look at it and do their thing. There is case... To what extent is yet to be determined.
-
Content and activities are completely different. They never sold you activities:i.e. nightfalls/weekly/daily and difficulty. In actuality they never even sold you content if you read the Eula. All they sold you was a license to access said game.

You say it's fact there is a case, yet you don't know what law it could possibly fall under? Sorry but it is NOT a fact. There is a magical thing called a EULA, companies use that to protect their ass.
