I'm torn between laughing really hard and pointing out that Thralls are female.

Point to me to where it says Thralls are only female.

Book of Sorrows. Hive start out female. Only "Daughters" are EVER mentioned. They have the choice to change gender when mature, by becoming a Knight or King and (usually) becoming male, or becoming a Wizard, and staying female.
