I used 25 ....1 at a time doing strikes this week only got 2 exotics...which ended up being the same damn light beyond nemesis I already had 2 of last week..tbh in my oppinion it's alot of time spent for f-all really I'd just play the raid imo

That's about right for the drop rate, but you allude to a bigger general problem... duplicate rewards are way too prevalent. As a result, the 'smart' RNG doesn't seem to be working as they explain.

The smart RNG was just another lie they told to trick people. Bungie is good at lying, it's what they do best. What happened is they saw when HoW released how people had stock piled motes of light, bought engrams and got all the new armor almost instantly. So what they did was make the system hand out duplicates only to slow people down because this time they knew people had stocked up on strange coins.
