Do you know if shade step works with the other subclasses? I have some blink/SS ideas burning

It doesn't, just gives you shadestep so you can use one of the other two nodes of nightstalkers last tree. Shadestep isn't really that useful, at least I haven't found a good use for it yet, unless in the crucible.

I found it helpful in the area in Kings Fall when you have the three totems. Kinda blinking out of sight so the enemies don't crush you while trying to get rid of your deathsinger curse thing. (I eventually switched to blade dancer and went invisible to make it easier)

I find myself using it constantly. It takes a bit of practice, but it much better than blink because it goes to third person, which doesn't disorient you.
