You only get marks for the first three you do per reset I think.

How would that be possible my friends and I did 5 in a row and they got marks on all 5 and I got none

Huh... Not sure then, that was just what I had experienced. Keep trying I guess, or try on another character, see if you get them there.

No they didn't. You get 10 marks for the first 3 heroic strikes you do per account, per week. You can do them all on one character or one on each. That's how it works.

You are right, that does make no sense. I have heard of people's accounts not reseting certain activities, maybe that's what happened.
