I've gotten many invectives as well. :(

A lot of Y2 exotics are only accessible through quests. So if you already have all the exotics for that type of weapon THAT drop, you will get duplicates. Once that starts happening, the only advantage in grinding strikes is for higher level purple/blue engrams for infusion, with the added bonus of the possibility of 310 engrams if you are 300+, so always gear your highest light before turning them in, and do them one by one so check whether your got a higher level one. Also, duplicates are good for dismantling and getting exotic shards + legendary marks for exotic infusion.
