You can use your sword to block the orbs he fires at you btw

Shoot his face before he even shoots them at you. Pulse rifle. Red Death heals you after each orb kill... Did we learn something...

I'd only recommend doing it as a last-ditch effort at keeping your ass alive. Try to kill as many orbs as you can with your primary, but quickly whip out the sword and block if you get swamped.

Use the extra ammo perks because blocking his dmg takes a shit ton of ammo

I tried this and it takes your sword energy down like 10 each time an orb hits. I had full sword energy and died with 6 seconds left on my gaze. Maybe an exotic sword is different but didn't work for me.

Ah right, I'd heard that you could do it see, didn't test it myself but maybe it is the Exotic swords, I'd sort of imagine it would be. I think it was a post on Reddit that I saw and I think people were agreeing that it works, not sure if the extent of that though lol

Some guy told us about it and said he had done it this way (he wasn't the gaze runner though). Not sure how the guy did it, but shooting them still seems the best method to me.
