I think KD should be removed from the game and they should just show game score & a score per minute type statistic like in BF. All KD does is promote camping, and "elite" players who are actually not elite, but use their teammates as bullet shields and are scared to be the first one into enemy lines. SPM was always a better stat imo, it showed just how much you were doing in a match, your impact on the game. If you had a high SPM there was no way you weren't having a massive impact on every game you played. If you had a low SPM, it's probably because you were getting a few sniper kills a game not scouting, not tagging, and solely trying to focus on kills and maintaining your "awesome 4KD" with only 4 kills. SPM measured your usefulness as well as your activity in every game and they could do with it in destiny instead of KD.

    Assuming that's a shot. So my retort to that is simple, only scrubs that need to be carried ask for high K/Ds for any content, never mind trials. /thread

  • Negative kds mean you probably gave the enemy team more points that youve actually scored yourself. So yeah, i think thats good to know

  • Yea not necessarily, what about Zone control & Rift... Negative K/D in those can still mean you were the best player, especially in Rift. What about guys who run solo, capture the rift 3 times and have more carries but die because they're team isn't co-ordinated to back them up? Yet they still get 3 caps and win the game with the highest score.. K/D is not important, the only people who try to disagree are the ones who spend all day hiding, and using underhand tactics to try and maintian a good K/D even though their contribution to the match is weak.

  • I've only gotten one kill streak by aggresively attacking people (no breaks, no hiding. Just charge the enemy with rockets and pain). I ended with 25 kills, 12 of which were from a single streak, and k had about 17 deaths. The half of my streaks I've gotten from camping areas or standing back and sniping

  • Rift: the more kills you do the quicker you get super. If you have the rift is it easier if you have super dope high kd people on your team - keep in mind: they did many kills (more super energy) and died less (enemy is less likely to have supers) - or 0.5 kd players that feed the enemy team? Sry but getting more kills than giving to the enemy team is the most essential part that every fps shooter is based around

  • No it isn't... Have you never played Battlefield or something? I think you're exposing yourself as a one dimensional player right now, I have won plenty of Rift games with people who have negative K/D overall, and even negative K/D in the match, the difference was WHEN they got their kills and deaths. If you are camping the spark and going positive but you die while helping transport , but another guy dies twice near the spark and then get's one kill which is the kill on the guy transporting the rift to prevent a score, then clearly one was more valuable than the other. It's not all about kills at all, you must be one of those call of nooby players that complains when you get utterly destroyed in Battlefield because you don't know how to PTFO. Stick with your one dimension mate, you're not a gamer, just a CoD Sheep.

  • Dont like battlefield bc im more of a infantery guy. Other shooters do that better. I left cod after the very first modern warfare. Been playing cs since the early alpha/beta stages. So im not a gamer. Pls leave sir.

  • Yeah playing CS doesn't make you a gamer either before you even think it, for a start it's still an FPS... One dimensional much? & Infantry only? Lol... Battlefield has fantastic infantry options were it's actually dynamic and needs strategy, not like call of duty where kids running around noscoping everything in one shot. Infantry in BF have a LOT more options, but Idk, even when it comes to FPS I prefer to be a good gamer at everything and do it all, not just one thing.

  • Bf has the worst hitboxes in fps especially bf2. Cs is prolly the most old school fps that there is. You have absolutely no idea what your talking about.

  • CS is old school, I did not debate that. But it's still an FPS, and I don't consider anyone who can only play a genre which by nature is the easiest genre to do well in, a true gamer. True gamers will pick up any genre of game and beat them down. As for BF, the only one that ever had issues with netcode was BF4,and even then it wasn't bad enough to make a considerable difference to my ability in the game, so it sounds like you're just not very good at the game, it's not as though lag can be an excuse on BF either when they have dedicated servers for every region. I absolutely know what I'm talking about, I probably have more varied game knowledge than you, because I will play anything, FPS are low in the pecking order for me as they're the most primitive and unimaginative genre.

  • I know they have a highest single game score in Destiny (Mines like 8039 on my Titan, if I got that right that would be amazing), but could your score per min be calculated aswell?

  • Yea the highest score thing can be a good indicator of potential imo. Not necessarily how someone will perform, but what their potential level to perform at is, also worth considering some people like myself can get high scores when the lag isn't there, and then struggle when it is. My highest control score on my main still sits at 10,500 with 52 kills, and then on this account my highest is from Mayhem clash 39K. SPM or Score per game could be calculated, but they'd have to split it across game modes.

  • I had a 3.5 kd and 1100 spm in BF , but SPM was pointless due to double xp weekends and 50-100-200% boosts.

  • Yeah Battlefield Hardline doesn't really count dude.. lol Everyones SPM was ridiculous in BFH, I think mine was like 4,000. But BF3 and the old bad companies, it was a far more reliable stat.

    Nah that was in BF4 Here was my main account 722hrs http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/soldier/x%20Up%20North%20Trip/stats/345443102/xboxone/ Look when I played 2 games on this profile with a 200% boost - 1,800 SPM http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/soldier/x420xBLZxITxYO/stats/1489636732/xboxone/ SPM means nothing in BF4, in BF3 if you had 700+ SPM you were playing really well.

  • I thought I said BF4 as well? Well if I didn't I meant BF4 as well as BFH because that's when they started with those sh*tty XP boosts and what not. That's why I miss BF3 so much, also because of the revives.

  • Playing the objective in destiny is killing other players, even in regular control you can win a game without ever capping an objective.

  • Never really played salvage, zone control is about controlling zones so that's a pto game mode, I have won a rift game by just spawn trapping the other team to the point we won on kills. So basically the majority of the game modes can be won by killing. I think the mistake people make in discussions like this is thinking that the Battlefield adage "PTO" universally applies to any FPS game.
