I don't agree. Because, while motes of light may be able to raise your faction reputation quicker, which will usually net you a legendary of some sort. Strange coins can buy exotics and "three of coins", which can get you exotics also. To me, that's worth it. Plus, in order to level up exotics, it takes shards and you'll more than likely need to infuse your exotic a couple of times in order to max out its light, which is going to end up costing a lot of shards. I think this is probably the reason that Bungie made it so that strange coins are now "growing on trees", because of how many shards we are going to need in order to level our exotic gear up.

Not true as well because you can purchase exotic blue prints as well as exotics from Xur to break down for shards. The light dps can be infused with said exotics

Yeah, I'm just saying, it used to only take one shard to max out an exotic, now it could take 2-3, depending on if you're able to get other guns with high enough light to ascend them with. If you have a 280 exotic, it may take 3 infusions to get it to at least 300. The highest ascension I've seen yet with my gear is 8 light. If you infuse a 280 exotic with a 288, then a 296, and finally a 300, that's 3 shards on just one exotic. Most people end up with a bunch of exotics that they want to max out. It will take a ton of shards to max out a bunch of exotics. That's why I'm saying Bungie probably made the strange coins more available than they were before.

I've got around 70 exotic shards in my vault. I also get more strange coins now than I ever did before. (150 per week as opposed to 27. Lol.) I see your point though. Some people might not have that much. I still think it's shit reward for nightfall or finishing the weekly crucible bounties.

Yes, for the nightfall and crucible it is. I'd rather just get weapons from the nightfall and for the crucible I'd rather get legendary marks.
