Destiny is handled more or less the same way EVERY other mmo is, the expansions come out and people get them because they want more. World of Warcraft has the same business model except the monthly fee, and that bad habit has been around since before you learnt to walk, most likely.
If Destiny goes however, I for one will be sad to see the day, though I don't think that it's nearly as soon as you believe.

No other game releases so many dlc's for such a high cost so quickly. That is fairly unique. Shit, they've been working on destiny 2 since destiny was released. Absurd.
-
No other game? Yeeeeah you might want to think that sentence through a bit. If you're talking about games in general, there are plenty of developers spitting out content without hesitating to grab just as much cash as the Destiny dlc's cost. If you're only thinking mmo's..... Then have a look at some of the "free to play" models shoveling dlc out the door that you need to pay for, smaller dlc's that barely give you any content but access to a few quests. When you've bought a few of them, they'll easily catch up to what the Destiny dlc's go for and most of the time, it's more or less the same amount of content.

Do I have to say that Destiny is not an mmo?
-
It's missing certain aspects of an mmo and Bungie wants to avoid the term but it is viewed, by most people, as an mmo.
-
It is viewed, by most people, erroneously
-
I never really said wether it was an mmo or not, though it doesn't really matter what genre it is, Destiny is still an awesome game and it's not likely to die out any time soon. Whether or not you're gonna keep playing or not is up to you, but if dlc coming out on a regular basis is a problem for you, I guess you're either poor or stupid.
-
"I guess you're either poor or stupid" ah yes, logical fallacies are a favorite of desticles on this forum
-
I'm just calling it as I see it. There is no other reason as to why one wouldn't appreciate dlc being released on a regular basis, especially if it's for a game that's awesome to begin with....
-
Maybe the dlc is overpriced? Maybe people disagree with the business practices? Maybe the dlc is only useful for 3 months? Maybe the dlc is actually a turd? But you've wonderfully demonstrated a false dichotomy, good job.
-
In that case, thanks for the help by taking the other side in said dichotomy. You do realize that you're just as one-sided in this as I am, right?
-
...no, that's not how any of this works. I'm losing brain cells talking to you
-
Hard to believe you had any to begin with, especially claiming that a few expansions released in a rather short time is going to harm the game and it's community....
-
Look at this community, and tell me that all is well.
-
I've never said that all is well... It is faring better than many others, but it's not doing well. That still isn't reason enough to believe that it will die out entirely though. One thing that could help liven it up a bit more though, would be to get working cross platform action into it. But that is most likely never going to happen. Anywhere. Ever...
