Well, if there's a perk that gives you Super energy in the Skill tree, then there's no reason it shouldn't activate.

I couldn't find one; the closest I could surmise was Fire Keeper. I think you need to be a bit more clear in context; explain the scenario you were in when this happened, and exactly what happened.

As CloudNyine said: Both in PvE and PvP. I threw a Hammer, my super ran out while the hammer was in midair. I am able to shoot again, the hammer strikes, kills an enemy, and I gain super enemy from that.

He threw a hammer, his super ran out, THEN his hammer killed someone resulting in him gaining super energy.
