Yup, im in the same boat. I did the exact same thing you did. Came from ps3 bought the taken king digitally on my ps4, since I already had all 3 on my ps3, now it says trial mode. On my missions it says "requirements not met" but I still have all my gear and weapons.
I've tried renewing the licenses and that did not work. So now, I'm out 375$ til this gets resolved or I find a solution somewhere.

I realised that the upgrade was only for the dlc (expansions 1 and 2) so I ordered the base game on disc which came with a code to unlock the Taken King. So I think you need to buy the base game in order to play Destiny on ps4 with all dlc. However I can't tell you definitely that what I did was right, and as you can see from the zero replies from any Bungie help advisors, good luck getting more information for your problem from this help forum.

I'll let ya know what happens. Edit: I had pre-ordered TTK, dont know if that helps any. Edit.. Again. Lol: physical disc solved my problem. Everything is unlocked now
