• I don't think it's gonna happen. Every publisher and developer sees how much backlash and bad press this is getting and I don't think they want to touch it. This is going to bankrupt Bungie and they all know it and will avoid it.

  • Backlash? Who the -blam!- cares about backlash when you have the number one top selling thing on AN ENTIRE MARKETPLACE? I'm afraid that other devs/publisher see the money, not the community.

  • You realize that statistic is based on a mandatory update, right?

Still, people bought it. A lot of people bought it. I'm just saying that that's most likely what other publishers see, and will, unsuccessfully, try to copy it. Bungievision won't last long with the strategies they are employing, and others will last even less, but in the short term? They'll make a lot of money

  • People bought it, sure, but I still wouldn't go so far as to say "a lot". Given the stats on the number of people that raided, nearly 800,000 guardians(there's that sneaky wording again) I'd venture to say roughly 1.5 million bought it. Wastedondestiny.com gives you the number of actual players online playing right now, so for something so wildly successful, I wonder why over the weekend they didn't even crack 1.5

  • It's funny seeing things like that, when all these loonies are running around shouting 20 million! Ahhhh! Destiny is so great! Yeah right. More smoke and mirrors, and epic failure.

  • I know I may not be very knowledgable when it comes to sales in the psn store, but would 1.5 million really top the charts? I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

  • Well the psn thing was for the mandatory update, every one whether you still have Destiny or not, if it's on your hard drive it downloaded.

  • I sincerely hope that we have succeeded in this endeavor.

  • The only good things out there are from blind fanboys and reviews that were paid for, so yeah hopefully this is doing it.

  • More people need to go to those interviews and press issues, just as was said (starting at 2:00) where the interviewer was saying that TTK is unanimously positive, when here on the forums, I did see positive, I saw higher numbers on the unpopular (complaints & dismay) side.

  • Indeed. This kind of unethical scam-artist type tactics can and will set a very real and very damaging precedent in the industry if gamers continually choose to willingly buy into them.

  • This is what Casey, several others, and myself have been trying to get through to people. If what has happened here is not dealt with, we are quickly going to find ourselves suffering the same type of policy from the rest of the industry.

  • I agree 100% with this comment, more than it being about just Bungie doing this, I don't want any other company to think they have the right to start doing it either!

  • Agreed, it should have never gotten this far, I've purchased TTK, but that will be the last Bungie or Activision product I purchase. I will also never preorder anything again.

  • That makes two of us. Gaming for me was to escape real world and just enjoy the fantasy and alien universes. Now I find myself with the same frustrations from the real world when I play games. I guess video games have became too mainstream and as a result corporations want to milk every last soul. And I thought more gamers meant better community and games. Now is not just those special individuals that could instantly become friends and talk about games. Now is all filled with every undesirable part of society everywhere you look.
