the summoner gets best rewards. in order to max engram drops for non summoners let the boss live and kill the adds (majors mostly) and then kill the boss at the last second.

That is not how the court should work though, at least one item should drop from the chest, as this is ridiculous. Not only are Adds not a guarantee drop for engrams, this opts for less people wanting to the Trials as they aren't going to necessarily get rewards from it. This is not a good mechanic in the game.

Public events that are spawned using runes, for a trial that you take time in doing and are completely player oriented not started by the game itself... It would be a public event if the game was oriented to have such things happen at random without player input, but that is not the case. It is also called the Court of Oryx which would make a great assumption as to them being Trials. A trial does not have to be a simple 3 person, or strike team related event. Yes the public can join in, but unlike regular Public Events not everyone can get something from these events. Another reason why I consider them trials, is that you alone can take on any Tier unlike the tier being set or dictated by the game. If one is allowed to activate something, that, while others can join, if they activate it for themselves, then they are challenging theirself, by that definition would it not be considered a trial?

secondly, it's exactly how they should work. 6 people show up. 6 people use their runes, everyone gets some help, and everyone gets rewards for using their own runes. If you don't contribute a rune then you wont profit as much as the others.

stop calling them trials first of all.

They are trials... because that's exactly what they are...

No they aren't. They're public events. You know how words pop up in the top left corner when you start/join it???? You know??? "Created/Joined Public Event?????" Yeah. That means its a public event.
