Well, you [i][u][b]DON'T[/b][/u][/i] take your guy friends for granted and ramble on ceaselessly about your boyfriend, especially if you've known them longer.
You know that depression and anxiety you were talking about? Take that feeling of not being good enough and then imagine having your heart stomped on by someone you cared enough about to stay with for any length of time, even if they didn't acknowledge you.
That being said, you're right that he should be happy that you're happy. But he doesn't have any obligation to be happy about you finding a boyfriend even if that's the reason you're happy. It's kinda like how you love your family members, but you don't always like them.
