Someone may have left and had someone else join. Hence the 7 1 got credit for being there for some of it

Ahh i see... Cedit where credits due, but maybe bungie should split these stats to represent everyones involvement in helping to complete a task and offer rewards based on your input

He has contributed in the activity and helped the team but may have needed to leave at some point. Same thing happened when Crota or Hard Crota came one of the top teams had fireteam of 7.
