Bungie sold "Destiny" like a AAA shooter. It was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Now current players know that "Destiny" is really pay-to-play. Enjoy Year 2 while you can.

No they didn't.

-
I paid attention as Bungie struggled for months trying to get people to understand what the game really was..... ...and have watched for the last year as most people just relate to the parts of the game that they find familiar and comfortable. ...and try to ignore the rest of it. Then get mad when those parts won't be ignored and won't go away.

@DeusFever You've played Destiny well over 21 days. That's a total of well over 500 hours. Had you bought the $100 initial offering and the $40, expansion - That'd put your investment at $140. Care to do the math on what you've paid per hour of Destiny? I think you've received an entertainment value well beyond that of another AAA title. So, do you enjoy being a hypocrite?

#Pay2playDestiny
So, do you enjoy being a hypocrite?
The $ per hour argument is a fallacy. It ignores quality over quantity, opportunity loss, and hidden costs. The argument can be used to defend the cost of almost any entertainment, and thus it is not a good defense of the cost of any entertainment. Truthfully for me, Destiny was the first multi-player game I bought for my PS4, and as a consequence, all my friends on PS4 were made through "Destiny". Those connections have become more valuable to me than the content offered by the game.
If you check http://wastedondestiny.com/ you will see I have spent 833 hours on Destiny since launch. Add 14 more hours for the beta.
This is the case for many players of Destiny. That's why you are seeing more activities require fire teams.
-
Lol I'm at 578 hours. I like Destiny, I just can't support Bungie anymore. I'll continue playing classic 6v6 until bungie decides to strip me of that as well by changing the playlists
-
Then stop playing and go play something else.
Then stop playing and go play something else.
If you can't handle your ideas being so successfully challenged by logic and reason, you should stop posting on these forums and go do something else.
Like reading a book.
ROFL. What "logic" and "reason". All I've seen so far is a lot of **assertion*** and ***accusation**. I'm not telling you that you need to like Destiny or Bungie. I'm telling you to have the courage of what you are pawning off as your "convictions". Don't Complain And Then Stay. If you feel that strongly do what I did with Watch_dogs. GO....PLAY....SOMETHING.....ELSE.
-
Why would you even start playing "Watch Dogs"? I know, I know, hype machine.
-
No one likes you.
-
You don't like me. But that's okay. I like you enough for the both of us. :)

Aggregate value remains the same. Entertainment per $ is really the only way we can guage the game itself. Yours is clearly, well above average - Therefor you've gained more from Destiny than most. So, yes, you're still a giant hypocrite.

Edited by DeusFever: 9/24/2015 7:15:25 PM
Entertainment per $ is really the only way we can guage the game itself.
That's like saying the best book has the most words, the best beach has the most sand, or the best person has the most cells. Destiny may well be the game I've spent the most hours playing, but it is not the best game I have ever played nor the best value. The best game award goes to "Red Dead: Redemption", which incidentally was also a great value because I made a 1 to 1 trade for it. After about 100 hours, I ended the game with the kind of satisfaction Destiny has never provided. The best value award goes to a used copy of the "Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition" I bought for $5. Even by your erroneous measure of a game's worth, 400 hours played for $5 is fantastic aggregate value. Maybe next year, when Bungie is selling "Destiny 2", I'll buy a used copy of Fallout 4 instead.

You are repetitive. Which would be fine if you weren't absolutely wrong. I saw your post in another section and responded to it there. Your comparison is ridiculous and wrong. Destiny is more expensive than other video games that you can buy for the same or better entertainment and you don't compare video games to hourly wages. But if you'd like to pay more for your entertainment, also please send money to your console/computer, ISP, and pay more in taxes for your infrastructure all of which if you didn't have, you wouldn't be playing any video games at all. You know, while you are so enthusiastic about spending money, send all those people money on my behalf too! Throw the money at the screen!
-
Wah. You've received more entertainment per $ than 90% of the industry's product. You really don't have a leg to stand on...But, keep at it bro.
-
I didn't ask for a refund you idiot. I don't care if you spend your money like a moron either. In fact, spend more. The only crybaby here is you. And the only asskisser here is you.
-
Never said you did. Not kissing anything. I'm pointing out that, statistically, IE mathematically, you're just wrong. Destiny offers you one of the top entertainment values per $ spent on the entire market, period. Again, keep up the insults man...It's literally all you have.
