Was anyone else upset with quiet's interrogation scene? Kaz and Ocelot just decide to torture a mute because she has a vocal cord parasite, along with the tattoo of the assassin in the prologue. Kaz keeps commanding her to speak, then Ocelot tells her not to because he is afraid that she will infect them. Her torture reaches its climax when a bucket of salt water is dumped on her, which code talker says could kill her. She writhes and sceams in agony as Venom Snake just looks at her dumbly not doing a thing, before Ocelot decides to wash her off with his canteen. They then call it a day, no more mention of this interrogation, no apology, and no hurt feelings from what I can tell. They tortured her for no real reason, they already knew that she had worked for cypher, and they didn't want her to speak. Why torture her at all, and why would Big Boss allow this to happen?

Really the only thing that was kinda off to me was Ocelot defending her from Miller the whole game and then do a complete 180 and torture her. Had it been Miller and another staff member it would've made sense.
-
None of them had a clue Quiet had the vocal cord parasite until she told Code Talker at the end of the scene.
-
Kaz calls snake right before the scene starts saying that they found out quiet was infected thanks to their cutting edge MRI

Edited by Smarkdow: 9/24/2015 7:08:20 PMThey find out about the other parasites she has, like the ones the Skull snipers use. Not the vocal cord parasites.

They already knew that her dermis was made up of parasites, from the MRI they found out that she was infected with a vocal cord parasite.

I hated that whole sequence. And I hate Kaz in this game. I liked him in Peace Walker. I get why he's such an asshole throughout MGSV, but he's SUCH AN ASSHOLE. On the other hand, this game made me love Ocelot even more than before.
-
Well, he's a asshole considering he kinda lost 2 of his limbs, lost his -blam!-ing base, and his best friend has been inna coma for a good amount of years. All of this is because of Cipher. I can completely understand why Kaz is off his -blam!-ing rockers in TPP, even if I don't agree with him
-
Somebody's mad that they don't have Kaz's hamburgers.
-
LOL! Aren't they some weird color, though? I don't care. I want one.
-
You can get one by going to your local McDonalds Kaz's original name before PW came out was McDonnell, and Kaz added GMO's to it at the end of the tapes. Kaz created McDonalds in the MGS timeline
-
But why did they interrogate her? I just don't understand it. Also why would Big Boss allow it to happen?
-
Well, Kaz had a hard-on about getting rid of her from the beginning, so that's part of it. At that point they didn't know it was Huey that had actually caused the second infection. So Kaz (stupidly, in my mind, because if she HAD spoken everyone in that room would have died) chose to try to torture the truth out of her, make her break and confess. He seemed to me like he was enjoying it, too, which was just... sick. As for why BB would have allowed it... Kaz made it very clear that Diamond Dogs was his baby, and he would run it as he saw fit. That BB was only there to carry out the missions, and Kaz would have control over the men and how base operations were handled. BB essentially agreed to that from the start. (As a side note, my heart sank when I started seeing those "Big Boss is watching you" posters show up all over the base after that torture scene.) That's my take on it, anyway. I could be wrong.

Yeah I hated the entire sequence as well, it must have been mainly spurred on by Kaz, but as we've seen throughout the game BigBoss does get the final say, so he could have protected her if he wanted to. The entire thing should have either been cut or explained better.
