Newsflash: The Nightfall Strike is not content. It is an activity that requires content. You don't have the content, you can't do the activity. It's literally like any real world activity. Do you want to play new video games? Yes? Then buy the new console. It's an easy concept and I'm sure you'll figure it out, champ. Other MMOS have done (and will continue to do) the same. No one cares if you think it's an MMO or not. It's an FPS with enough MMO elements to put it in the ballpark.

 •
Other MMOS have done (and will continue to do) the same.
World of Warcraft, the largest MMO in the world, does not have activities that only carry on to the next DLC. If you were living under a rock and missed the latest DLC there would be no way to tell from a content/activity perspective. Every raid, map, PvP, items are all still available and the way you access them does not change. A DLC is supposed to add content, "Downloadable content (DLC) is additional content created for a released video game." At no point does it say it takes away the ability to do something that you previously could do.

 • This logic fails to provide comfort as NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON (including you) ANTICIPATED THAT WHEN THEY FIRST BOUGHT THE GAME THEY WOULD HAVE TO KEEP PAYING TO PLAY IT!!!! Never once did Bungie clarify: "Now remember folks, you must keep purchasing DLC if you want play the most fun and rewarding portions of this game... Even if they aren't new. :D " How can you defend that? Enjoy your game. That's cool. But don't defend dick headed practices man! That's how dick headed practices perpetuate! Damn. Gets me worked up.

 •
This logic fails to provide comfort as NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON (including you) ANTICIPATED THAT WHEN THEY FIRST BOUGHT THE GAME THEY WOULD HAVE TO KEEP PAYING TO PLAY IT!!!!
I did....but then I did my homework before buying the game. http://www.ign.com/videos/2014/08/27/destiny-what-to-expect-after-launch What Bungie is saying here is VERY clear to anyone with MMO or PC gaming experience. 1. The game will keep changing. There will never be a static version of the game. 2. The game's DLC will be CORE content....not really optional. 3. The game will never "reset". So game will keep growing in a modular fashion-----like an MMO----and if you do not keep current the game will eventually pass you buy. As a poster on an other thread brilliantly put it. Buy NOT buying TTK you have put yourself in a position where 1. There is no way for you to participate meaningfully in the current end game. Because you didn't buy access to any of the required gear, or any of the new or remixed strikes. So for the vast majority of weeks you'd have nothing to play. 2. Allowing you to level up, would make the parts of teh game that you do have access to even LESS satisfying to play. I farmed the PoE level 28 last night for strange coins with three level 40, light 280 + Guardians....and we shit-stomped the place. Took out the final boss with PRIMARY weapons. Becsause they were doing more damage than GHorn was a month ago. 3. So you are basically demanding that Bungie support an ENTIRELY seperate game....that goes NO WHERE....and SOLELY for the benefit of people that are doing nothing right now to contribute to the game financially. When Bungie could be devoting those same resources to paying customers. Lastly, WHERE'S THE END POINT IN THIS?? Because if Bungie accomodates you now....people who don't want to participate in Year Three will demand the same thing....and then these who don't want to contribute to Year Four. So Bungie winds up with a trail of "dead" versions of the game streaming behnd Destinty that geneates NO revenue for them. When does it end? Or does that $60 obligate Bungie to you FOREVER??

 • Since when is Destiny an MMO? People call it that when they are morons but in reality it's not. So what were you saying?

 • Activities are content. The base story missions are activities. The strikes are activities. The raids are activities. The fact of the matter is they removed content from a product (not a service). In a way they devalued their product which affects all of us, even TTK owners.

 • The activity is the nightfall. The content is the strike. The activity is gaming. The content is the game. Do you see the correlation?

 • Your correlation is just semantics. The point is that people bought the game to play it and now there is much less of it to play.

 • Because activities, like the nightfall and iron banner are within the contents of the game, shouldn't they be considered content? The nightfall itself is a strike, but with modifiers making it different than the original strike can it be considered the same? It's an augmentation of the content which creates new content.

 • Newsflash - the nightfall is part of vanilla destiny and something i already paid for. Even with the advent of the dark below and HOW you could do the nightfall except when dlc specific. It is now locked away behind a paywall and bungie will only let me do it if i pay for content i have already paid for. Dispicable behaviour. Its nothing to do with money as i am in my 40's and run my own business, i will never buy a bungie product again based purely on principle.

 • The NEW strikes are not a part of vanilla DESTINY. They are part of TTK. Why should you get them when YOU did not PAY for them. I get your "MOM" says it's not fair... but life is like that!

 • No one is asking to play the New Nightfall Strikes they just want access to the old ones that are not locked behind the paywall
