Another point...I bet you anything Bioware had the entire Mass Effect trilogy mapped out. That was quite a few years in its own right.

This. Really good companies have things planned out years in advance. 10 years 20. How long do you think it takes to make a new airplane. From idea to first launch. Sometimes 10 years. And they already have the next one planed to replace it. I think bundev doesn't really have an idea of what their doing 6 months down the line. Hell they started fallout 4 the day after fallout 3 was launched 5 years ago.

I always felt this way and it's why I don't hesitate to bash them. They are making stuff up as they go along with no real plan in place. Taking everyones money in the process without a second thought. This is literally just a huge beta program. I mean the core currency has already changed multiple times in the 1st year.

They gotta be the worst managed developer in games. Can you imagine that tub of shit Smith being your boss? Who's in charge of this clusterfuk? Seriously. Good thing Smith is such a generic name. So nobody knows I'm talking about Luke Smith. Ha ha they'll never know. I like ttk. But I've got enough posts about them already. I won't rant right now.

Edited by MOAB23: 9/23/2015 3:42:48 AMI'm incredibly interested to know what Smith's qualifications are. The guy was a blogger Bungie seemed to assimilate, then put in charge of overseeing a project. That strike anyone else as weird? Smacks of a guy cozying up to Activision big time, so they put him in charge of something he probably isn't qualified for. I mean compare him to Patrick Bach from DICE for example, and the difference in the depth they go into in interviews about not only the bells and whistles, but the technical side.

Edited by Kweh: 9/23/2015 12:27:13 AMThe guy curses up a storm in interviews. The guy has no integrity. It's almost laughable a guy like that is a lead and representing a company. Guess it makes sense. Look who he works for.

He behaves the same way as their targeted audience.

Yup. I'm sure details emerged and changed, but I'm sure they put thought into the story enough to plan for sequels. Perhaps bungie has discussed things long-term, but the notion that any plan ever existed fir destiny and its story has always been laughable. Simply lookig at all of the ad hoc changes made to how the game plays is enough to reveal bungie has very little planned out beyond a release structure for games and dlc.

I'm currently in the process of writing up a sci-fi novel that takes place in an alternate universe, where all countries on Earth, along with their histories, are fictional. Actually got a DeviantArt account for all of my weapon, vehicle and character designs (aliens included), with technical data and backstories. I'm still in the planning phase for the most part, but I already know how my series will close and what becomes of the characters. That backbone remains the same, while minor details are adjusted as needed. Destiny doesn't seem to have a narrative backbone. Everything we've done to date, except maybe the faint connection between Crota and Oryx, feels very disconnected, instead of blending together into the wider story. Nothing from the vanilla story has been hinted on since. It's like the economy. They keep changing it, using us to test it out, and then they change it again. Either they really can't make up their minds, or its part of a scheme to keep people grinding for new economies instead of tapping into their accumulated 'wealth' from the previous one. They really don't seem to know what they're doing at all.
