Hmm wasn't it obvious from the beginning ?? The game never established anything, never earned its purchase price with proper quality content and keeps on pissing off the player-base with each so called expansion.
So it was only a matter of time before this scam fails. Even the younger audience that they wanted to prey on has a short attention span.
Win/captivate the people with a quality product and you earn their TRUE loyalty/support for a long time. Lie/mistreat/manipulate them and all your game will be capable off is bleed more players. "10 years plan" my ass, i never saw a third year for this game to be honest .....
Win/captivate the people with a quality product and you earn their TRUE loyalty/support for a long time.
Indeed, sir. The only reason a good chunk of us are even here, is because of the goodwill they earned for themselves with Halo. Look at what theyve done to their namebrand in just 1 year. Holy shit.

This. I would follow fallout to hell if I had to. They even released a free game to tide us over until November. They care. Quality is loyalty. Activision never again.

Yeah, it was. I quit in October. I have come back for TTK and it is a big improvement. It's unfortunate it took 130.00 to get here though, and it still has room for improvement, but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel...could be a train though. Lol. We'll see if it holds my attention this time.

Edited by Thane: 9/22/2015 8:29:24 AMI never commented on the quality of the Taken king specifically bro since i didn't play it. You however did play it and can give a better picture of its quality. The main problem with this game, is how anything good is wrapped in shit. Lies/overpricing/paywalls/manipulation/no appreciation of the player-base. So the real question is, is it worth supporting based on what they've been doing ?? One can improve/make a good game, but how would a customer feel if he must get slapped to play it ??

Edited by dic-_-jones: 9/22/2015 8:46:21 AMI was agreeing with you Thane. I was saying yeah it was obvious, hence the reason I quit in October. I was just adding that the game has gotten better, but it took time and a waste of our money to get there and there is still work to do. We can all forget about the game in the ViDoc's, that game will never exist, at least not with the Destiny name on it.
-
Oh i know you were agreeing with me man lol, i simply commented on how you mentioned the quality of TTK. Which is irrelevant at this point, i don't care how good the game has gotten with this level of BS around it. However, i sincerely hope you enjoy your purchase.
-
I had a weak moment when I bought it. Part of me feels bad for buying it, I really shouldn't be supporting these types of practices, it only encourages other companies to do the same. I am having fun with it though, but it isn't the first game I choose to play, that is FFXIV. It actually isn't even the second game on my list, that is Hearthstone. Once the Bloodborne expansion drops and Dark Souls 3, I doubt I will touch it for a long while.

Edited by Thane: 9/22/2015 9:15:42 AMI definitely second your enthusiasm for DS3 and BB's DLC, Myazaki san just knows what he's doing. Would like to add the Witcher3's DLC to the list and of course Fallout4. Already enjoying the closure to the MGS series with the masterful MGS5 so no shortage in games here. Even if you bought TTK, at least you acknowledge the wrong in this project. Oh well might as well enjoy it to the max since its too late now lol.
-
I think that TTK is indeed a marginal improvement. At the very least it makes the game a bit more bearable/playable for some. That said though, one simply cannot sweep these business tactics that were used under the rug. When people start doing that is when we start to see detrimental industry changes in policies.

Well said.

i thought maybe itd last to the 6th year, guess i was being optimistic, of course my guess was made before the ttk was announced ;) which just goes to show, you can have a great concept and a huge fanbase, but one jackass decision and it all goes down the tubes.
-
Edited by Thane: 9/22/2015 1:59:35 AMI'm curious, what did you mean by "a great concept" ?? As for the big fanbase, understandable since the majority are under 20, it is after all aimed at the younger audience. Also they have been doing it since launch so excluding/alienating/dividing the player-base happened from the Vanilla up to this moment.

This game actually started out as a more in depth idea. It wasn't supposed to be t for teen. They chopped it up and dumbed it way down after Joe got axed.
-
the whole space fps mmo thing, but then they decided to screw their lead developer over and he left and took all his ideas with him since they were his intellectual property, and then destiny was released and everyone was disappointed. the guy who left wanted it to be huge a real space fps mmo. but the producers thought that would intimidate the players and they decided to make it small and he got pissed and left.
