They've had both feet in since Joe Staten quit their sorry asses back in 2013.

This. Story rewritten 1 month before planned launch. GG, Bungie. I'm sure the story we see now is nothing like what joe had planned.

Not just the story, but much of the progression and character development in the game! I remember Joe in interviews during E3 in 2013, explaining such progression that resembles what is being phased in, in "the taken content" I believe if Joe Staten was allowed to make and finish destiny...that destiny would have been the game that was shown to us, pre launch and I would have gladly signed over my paychecks to bungie. So a big FU to bungie for allowing it to fall to pieces by signing with activision/not listening to Joe Staten and a BIG eat a bag of dicks to activision cause that's what you deserve.

I concur. Having read and listened to a lot of the early development releases from back in 2013 and even 2012, Destiny originally had the potential to become a brand new experience in gaming. It was supposed to be a game unlike any other. Some of the greatest minds in the industry coming together (Marty, Joe, Dinklage) to craft what could have been considered a masterpiece. Had it been done correctly, Destiny probably would have replaced, or at the very least rivaled CoD in terms of popularity. I found it quite depressing that the whole project was essentially destroyed when people started leaving (although now days we have quite a good grasp as to why).
