not really necessary since they have DLC every 4 months that makes major changes and adds missions and weapons. Bungie doesn't do free content.

yes, i know the bungie doesn't do free content, but this is a little and few add-on! and in the time from a DLC to next DLC, there is 4/5 month. in this 4/5 bungie will do a monthly update for avoid to kill the game in this month. You remember june and july 2015? there was nothing to do and no one played, ok is summer, but with a little update you can play one hour a day without get bored

People spent the summer desperately trying to earn etheric light to upgrade year one gear, only to have it all turned into garbage when TTK came out lol

ahaha it's true. But, if you spent the summer for a new exotic weapon for example? or a new limited class armor? I think it's better

I had 4 exotic bounties on the go during summer, couldn't be bothered to finish them, when the 2.0 patch came out they were auto completed and I got 4 exotic for no work lol I know what your saying though, I spent most of July/August running POE and Dragon strikes, it is the chance od decent rewards that keeps you playing...
