After testing to see if this issue regarding TTK not being license transferable/playable by alternate accounts on the original console of purchase, was limited to the digital edition due to the pre-purchase requirements to even see the offer, being that you needed to have purchased both prior DLC.
This is not true, and no version of TTK can do this, regardless of whether it's:
Legendary Edition (You'll receive: Suros bonuses (IF LEGIBLE) and Spark of light however)
Collector's Edition (Same as above)
or Digital Edition, which gives no bonuses.
This is against the User License Agreement found before purchase, and for those who have little to no idea what i'm talking about? Refer to this forum post: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/154218528/0/0
Before anyone attempts to send me the link of the "official" statement on the help forums, regard the part where it states, "Subject to Platform Policy" this includes the platform policy found, before purchase, stating that ALL accounts on the xbox the DLC was purchased on, should, 100%, be able to have access to the game, regardless of being the person to originally purchase it.
Bungie needs to acknowledge this, before someone takes legal action, because they couldn't share this game with their Spouse/Kids/Family Despite being able to do so with all of the prior expansions.
Keep this bumped, i know i will, because this isn't just a matter of nerfing a weapon, or fixing a bug, etc.
This is about playing the game.
(EDIT) is anyone curious as to why bungie hasn't said anything? C'mon Cozmo! Don't ignore us!
(EDIT2) the support is amazing! Let's keep this trending, and in the light!
(EDIT3) Chat support is still giving me conflicting stories, I was even transferred to a chat for those who speak Spanish (I'm a Canadian, who barely knows how to ask for water in French) just so they didn't have to talk to me. If anyone wants, I can upload an imgur album of the screenshots.
(EDIT4) As previously stated, chat support on the xbox site has been nothing but useless on this subject, and we clearly need an actual bungie employee, or knowledgeable person to come forward and explain why people are having issues with TTk, only on the 360.
This just isn't fair to the people who don't have a spare 40/70$ to spend on a game, and it'd be rude to even insinuate we should, considering that other consoles haven't even had so much of a whiff of this nonsense!
Please, cozmo. you're the community manager, the guy who is supposed to be relaying everything to the Devs, Talking and interacting with us. i shouldn't have to ask, but i am. Please, give us an answer!
Ok I have a TKR bug update direct from Xbox live customer service rep. Called to tell me, "Per Bungie, not XBox, Bungie has stated they will require purchase of TTK digital download for each seperate account even if on the same console ." Now my work around still works so I am not going ballistic but that does sound like it contradicts license agreement language people are showing online.

Sorry, I don't know who you heard this from, but Xbox chat support was spouting nonsense to me for the entirety of a straight day. Some went as far as closing our chat when I sent the a copy of the Usage Restrictions, solely because they didn't know what to do.

Some went as far as closing our chat when I sent the a copy of the Usage Restrictions, solely because they didn't know what to do.
On launch morning I called Xbox live customer service. The rep talked me through the steps they have suggested. Unplug or otherwise clear cache of both accounts then delete player accounts and reinstall. Then reload TTK. Okay right? Nada. Until he had me log in on my account and the sub account. Bingo. Sub account gained access. Okay problem solved. Thanks later bye. Sends me his link to handle further issues. I later find sub account only has access like that when prime account is also ogged into console. Okay fine I am playing and sub account can play. Awesome! But I told them problem solved. I reply to reps account to tell him I was wrong and sub account can't get access without prime logged logged in too. Today he calls. Apologizes for not getting to me sooner. THEN, that is when he says that it is Bungie's position that all users/accounts must pay for content. He empathized. I don't have reason to dispute him. I complained that it seemed violate the agreement but that was just for the record as far as we both were concerned. So why call me to tell me that unless it was, at least for now the position of XBOX that Bungie is limiting access to sun accounts. It certainly seems to the case for my 360 console and my sub account. But we are both playing and progressing so I am content to let it lay unless this changes. Thanks for inquiring. Just passing on what I was told by the closest thing to an authority I have. That is all. Peace Out.

You can still play the taken king you just have to log into the original buyers account every time. After you log him in and it registers that you purchased it simply log that account out.

For those I have talked to that want retain parental controls intact that is a good thing assuming it allows normal progress and all access from that point on. Thanks again.

I'll post what I saw from the usage restriction when I downloaded the content. It specifically said that each user could use the content on that Xbox, and that was when downloading directly through bungie.

Get an official from Bungie to deny what I was just told by Xbox. He didn't seem to be happy doing so but I have no reason to doubt he believes what he told me I am certain he works for Xbox live. Don't know what to say but if your stuff ain't working then, no you don't have access no matter what you show me, so Xbox just told me to take it to Bungie if its an issue. But we are both able to play my console now as is so I don't care unless they stop that. Use this information or ignore it I have no interest in you trying to debate me, if that's your intent, nor pursue a legal connotation with Bungie. If you need too then you need to talk to Bungie direct. Try that and tell me what they say because that seems to be missing from all the conversations.

We're on the same page. I just think if you could tie it to the actual term and conditions when you purchased it you have the grounds to say they didn't deliver on the purchase. I agree though for now the workaround is annoying but at least it works.
