Reduced government has always correlated to more discrimination. Even since early America, whenever federalists didn't have power that's when rights went away from minirities.
Some ppl think gov is dumb and should stay out of things, but I'd rather trust gov than uneducated fools.
Btw, America has one of the lowest taxes yet they still complain about it (since before the birth of America they did)
Good gov funding means better infrastructure and better education. When gov has no money America turns into what it is now
Oh and the assistance plans are to help cusion the falls that are inevitable with expansion and compression of economics, preventing depressions. When things are deregulated or not regulated enough, recession happens

You don't think that we're at a point where we're starting to legislate trivial or completely unnecessary things though? Libertarians don't think there should be no government which you seem to be conflating them with. Those are anarchists.

But if trivial then there doesn't seem to be a problem either way Libertarians don't think there should be no government which you seem to be conflating them with. Those are anarchists. ok? I didn't say either of those two groups just stating what I think
I would say it is a problem. Especially when authoritarian institutions such as universities start limiting free speech. You said that with no government discrimination is bred. That's why I mentioned libertarians vs. anarchists. Also define discrimination in your own words. What does that mean to you, and how would you stop that. Because parity seems to be on a lot of authoritarians minds as of late

No, it's a problem when idiots cry for American exceptionalism and college board bends to the conservative demands. Now that's the real problem, and gov was not involved in that. As for the correlation with government and social freedoms, simply look at gay rights. Without gov intervention nothing would have been done for then. And even with legal acceptance, many groups still offer much prejudice to said groups. The fight for black equality was probably similar to that, except much worse

Conservative? The colleges are so progressive it's not even funny. Where have you been? You act as though I believe in no government. Of course gays should have had the right to marry. It's on a case by case basis but overall I lean more libertarian. Especially cultural libertarianism.

Whatever your views are their recently said change to increase American exceptionalism is not ok. I didn't say anything about your views not do I care. I made my post, my points, my reasons. Done. I'm not going to debate or teach people things when they are not asking for it
