You don't need to be wearing a certain bond to purchase/exchange things at the Faction vendor, you just need to make sure you are pledged to them. When you talk to them they should offer you a pledge. If you take that it functions the same way as the bonds used to in Y1. Only now you are not forced to wear an ugly FWC bond to get the rep.

Ohhhh so this is part of the TTK changes? So do crucible rank points level all of the factions you are pledged to? Or is there only one pledge/alliance that you can have at a time? Thanks for the reply!

You can only be aligned with one faction each week. At reset every week you will get an opportunity to pledge your allegiance to a new faction. You don't have to, but you can. If you just want to stay with the faction you are aligned with you don't have to do anything. The take away here is that you can only have one faction per week. You can't pledge and then change your mind--once you pledge you are stuck with that faction for a whole week. Reputation works a little differently now as well. For any activity that is related to the Vanguard (main story mission, Quests given from Cmdr. Zavala, Cayde-6, or Ikora Rey) and Vanguard Bounties, you will earn Vanguard Rep [i]as well as[/i] Faction Rep towards your aligned Faction. Crucible activities (Crucible playlists, crucible bounties/Quests) earn you Crucible Rep [i]as well as[/i] Faction Rep. I hope all of that made sense!
