You must have a taken king weapon rare or legendary of the same class ( primary, special and heavy). The way it works you must choose which taken King weapon you would like to infuse. Usually it's a legendary due to there unique perks. If you have a 200 base damage legendary weapon and you would like to infuse it to boost up its damage you must choose a rare or legendary weapon
That has a base damage above the current weapon you are trying to infuse. So you can infuse a 200 damage weapon with any weapon of the same class that has a higher damage of 200. Infusing will allow the weapon to have a higher damage. Same thing goes for armor, it must be the same class and higher defense. Of course the higher the damage the higher the infuse weapon will become. Usually you will also need glimmer, more of light, weapon parts or armor and 3 legendary marks. I hope this helps you out.

Can you infuse a weapon multiple times?

Yeah definitely wish I would have known about rares going into purples. Deleted so much purple stuff 😩
-
I wish I had read this sooner while I was on my Warlock. Thankfully I haven't grinded for my alts, so I'll know it going forward.
-
So I should be able to infuse a 220 sword with another heavy that is over 220? Or does it have to be another sword?
-
Yes you can as long as it has a higher damage and it's the same type( heavy )

Thanks guardian!

Just to add to your explanation, I read somewhere that the infused item will receive the difference in attack or defense from the 2. So if you have a weapon that is 200ATk and another that's 242, infusing the 200 will split the difference so it'll be 221. Correct me if I'm wrong.
-
looks like it boosts it 80% of the difference. math shows it and I read that in another post as well
-
To be honest I'm not 100% sure I had a 200 damage weapon and I infused it with a 245 damage n I received a 235 damage weapon. Someone will hopefully get the complete breakdown on the differential.

I had a 200 weapon and infused a 256 weapon and it ended up 245. So don't know the math behind it...
