No, you literally HAVE to buy a copy for each account playing as they do not support account-shared licenses for TTK

Not true for XB1. I've played on a sub-account since the beta and I've been able to play and get everything my bf has, even TTK, VIP rewards and the Suros pack.
-
Same here, we have four people on one box. All played Destiny I, HoW and TDB, no issues, no need to sign in primary account. Haven't played TK yet, at work right now, but keep having friends with issues asking for help. It goes like this: "I can't play TK on my husband/brother/etc.'s console, WAAAAAA!" Made me look for the correct answer.

Edited by wickedwahine808: 9/17/2015 12:45:15 AMYou have to be kidding, right? Both DLCs had no issues? What is so different? Edit: I trust your answer but would like to see an official answer, this seems absolutely CRAZY.

Ill look for the link here in the threads

I have looked as well and the answers are mixed, hence my post here.

This is a full expansion, the same size as the base game. The last two were just basic DLC. They are also trying to avoid the "share account with friends to give it to them for free" issue.
-
That's not what the description of the expansion said when I purchased it! Bungie better fix this and fix it now!
-
https://m.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3kjjmk/psa_ps4_secondary_proxy_or_subaccount_users_will/ They explicity stated prior to release this, if you followed all of the news

This is regarding Year One VIP Rewards. Personally could not care less about that. My question is regarding playing the actual game, not displaying some snazzy bum flaps.

Read it all UPDATE 2: Bungie Mod BNGHelp0 issued the following on the Bungie Help forums: "Hello all, As a general rule, players will only be able to access the content that they own the license for. Features like “Gameshare” are not supported by Bungie. This is subject to Platform policy. Here are some helpful links to learn about how content is shared across the different platforms on which you can play Destiny.

Edited by Dead Warlord: 9/17/2015 10:22:36 PMProblem with that is BNGHelp0 stated on another post that:
The Taken King launches on 9/15/2015. Once The Taken King is live players will be able to access the trailer from the Director and all of the pre-order items that they qualify for. For players that own the Taken King and have multiple accounts on one console, The Taken King will be accessible to the secondary accounts at launch, but the pre-order items will only be accessible to accounts that own The Taken King. Please note we are aware of an issue where some players already have already received access to their Collector's Edition items and the Suros pack emblem and shader. If you qualify for these pre-order items, you will receive them by 9/15/2015 when The Taken King launches.
This was posted on September 14th, day right before TTK launched. BNGHelp1 later added that addendum you posted later on in that day. Makes the whole situation a hell of alot more confusing cause it seems like sub-accounts are or were supposed to be able to play TTK and what not. Plus on another thread, BNGHelp3 states that they are aware of sub-accounts being unable to play TTK as an issue and are actively investigating it, which lends credence to the notion that sub-accounts are supposed to be able to play the expansion. With all this misinformation being fired back and forth, and some people being able to play on sub-accounts and not others, this whole TTK licensing thing is a frigging mess. I understand they wanna make sales but this whole situation is blowing up in their face pretty bad. In case anyone wants to see those threads I mentioned in this post: BNGHelp1 - https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/152543015/0/0/1 BNGHelp3 - https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/153993455/0/0 Edit: Another post by BNGHelp3 that states multiple accounts should be able to play: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/153963244/0/0 As a side note, anyone who is on 360 can play the DLC by signing in an account which has the rights to the DLC and then signing yourself in on a 2nd controller and playing it that way. So far Bungie hasn't come out and stated that this is against TOS, and its been posted throughout the Help forums so it seems like a legit workaround far as we know so far anyhow. Hope this helps you guys, I've been waiting to see what happens myself.

I've never heard the term gameshare.
-
"Gameshare" means sharing a game or dlc to a friend by giving them your account to download it and the license for it so they can play on their account.
-
This does not apply here for the answer I am seeking clarification, although sharing is caring right? ALL GTS in same household, console. No one is giving out anyone's account elsewhere.
-
I don't care what the news said. I care about what the friggin Xbox360 said in the window I purchased the game from...that's the only thing that matters.
-
It doesnt explicitly state "usable on all account on console purchased"
-
Funny 'cause I'm pretty sure it said: ""You can use this item on the first Xbox 360 console you downloaded it to. Access to this item will also be granted to all users on this first console"
-
Edited by wickedwahine808: 9/17/2015 12:51:47 AMMy brother purchased Destiny 1. I've had no issues playing it on the same box. Same goes for DLCS ?? Edit: We both play it under different GTs
-
Yeah. Its a recently adopted practice so far only for the taken king.
-
Very recent indeed and complete insanity.
-
Edited by Slonders3: 9/17/2015 12:55:43 AMDo you think bungie will ever change it?
-
Doubt it. Its not easy to change the license without totally re-releasimg it and having to redownload it
-
Bullshit. The only download needed on the xbox is the ~100k unlock file.
-
i agree this isnt very smart on bungies part
