Nightstalker is way better than you claim. First off, everything crits for everyone on fireteam while enemies are tethered, even rockets, grenades, fusion rifles etc. Second, orbgasms everywhere. Easily able to generate 8 with multiple perk combinations. The grenades and melee are a bit weak, but they serve more of a CC purpose than anything. Hunters are the best support class in the game now, and i guarantee you will have at least one on your raid team friday.

It's best at taming groups,will be great for ads. But the bubble is best for defending against attacks and bosses.

Better support than a bubble titan? I think not, yet it's by far the best hunter support class. In terms of orbs, that's left up to skill unless you count the orbs that drop out of a bubble titan's orb vending machine. My main concern is the other things outside of the bow shot: melee could have been a dark blade with range/ AOE damage. Upgrades could have been "teleports you behind opponent, shrouds enemy vision in smoke, or slows and DoTs targets. " So much potential wasted. It's not bad, but it's the short end of the knife.

I'd choose night stalker of defender any day. Being able to take down multiple majors at once with the shared damage perk is way better than weapons of light, and Vanish in Smoke is better for helping allies that are too far for you to help with a defender bubble.
