The Crucible only gives you Mark one time per day. It doesn't matter if you use more than one character because it's per account. So I received 15 Mark in the crucible and I also received 25 marks after I beat Oryx in PvE... That was during a later mission which totally surprised me. So now I have to 15 + 25 marks which equals 40 marks. You can also get marks during the daily story when you have enough light. So I would keep doing PvE missions outside of the daily crucible.... Until you can also do the daily story.

  • What! So if i do the daily heroic or crucible on one character for the legendary marks then there js no reason to do it with other two characters. Why did they make it per account? At least before all your characters got stuff. If its a shared unit of currency....why would they only make it so you can only get any of it on one character. That's absolutely ridiculous. It'll take a month to buy one gun from dead orbit. Not liking this at all.

  • This way all your characters get stuff too. That's the thinking. To keep everything balanced if they allowed you to earn on each character instead, then they would cut the amount down so you still got the same each week. At least this way I don't have to log in and out bouncing between characters... trying to remember what you did on each character to get your weekly list done. So it's about how you look at. In the end you get 210 marks per week for the dailies and 30 for the weekly heroic strikes (3 at 10 marks each). A total of 240 + marks per week.

  • Plus you get armor and gun rewards for doing normal and heroic strike playlists randomly. It's not that uncommon like before. And they have lived up to the commitment to change RNG so you're getting more stuff relative to your characters level!

  • I was thinking weekly heroic instead of daily. It isn't as bad as i was thinking. Still seems kinda pointless to have more than one character....now that they all have 3 subclasses.

  • I know what you mean. But some people like to use different characters depending on their mood. Also during year one raids I needed a specific ability to compliment my fireteam so having another leveled character was important. Like having a hunter to go invisible to revive teammates. Or a warlock for nightfalls in case everyone dies. BTW... The 30 per week for the weekly heroic strikes can also be done on the same character (it's per account instead of per character also).

From what I've been reading, and I could be wrong so hopefully someone can also reply and agree or answer better, the Legendary Marks are now linked on all of your characters. For example, I earned 15 Legendary Marks yesterday during the daily crucible challenge on my Hunter, so if I log into my Warlock or Titan I should have 15 Legendary Marks there, too. Unfortunately I haven't touched anything but my Hunter as of late, so unable at the moment to confirm if that's the case. Nevertheless, I feel that they've gone backwards in a way to getting marks. I thought the reason in which they were merging Vanguard and Crucible marks to create 'Legendary Marks' was to discourage a weekly cap in which individuals can gain marks. This, for all intents and purposes, seems both more complicated and less helpful than the separate marks (Vanguard and Crucible) were prior. At least before if I wanted to get the helmet, chest piece, boots, and gloves of a given faction it would take me four weeks (approximately) to earn as opposed to taking about a month to buy one or two pieces from a faction.

  • Thank you for the reply, Notofthisworld4! I was doing quite a few crucible matches (the daily one) and wasn't getting anything. Ironically it wasn't until after I confusingly made this topic seeking help that I played another match and earned 15 Legendary Marks. So essentially the only way to earn them is through the daily/weekly events? Will most definitely take quite some time to get a single piece then at this rate. I can appreciate the complexity of it and the vast change it is in procedure, but I feel this isn't very friendly towards those who are newer to the game or were building up their armor prior to the change. Additionally it's a wee bit confusing. I began playing Destiny myself shy about a month to a month and a week ago, somewhere around there, but must say if I were beginning now, today, instead of when I did start, I would need some serious F&Q with someone to figure it all out! Thanks again everyone, truly appreciate it :)

  • It took me a lot of time as well but I started much earlier. You are not alone in what you explained. Remember... 15 daily crucible match selected for you 15 daily story selected for you 30 each week for the weekly heroic strike (10 for each of the first 3 each week) A Quest will give you 25 as well. But don't worry, you will get goof stuff (guns & armor) just by playing the normal strike list... Even before you have enough marks to buy gear. If you do the normal strike list! --- You also get armor the quickest by doing the normal strike list over and over. It rotates between different strikes and 2 players are matched with you for each strike so you are not doing it by yourself. If at any time you get an invitation on screen to join a party... DO SO! But after accepting get your Xbox headset plugged into the controller (make sure you are not muted and the volume is up on the end of the cord). It's great to play with others on your screen and be able to chat with them at the same time. (being in the "party" is the start, to talk while playing. Bit if you want to do that while you are on the same screen then you need to additionally be in the game too. and adds a whole new dimension that is awesome! 1. So a person could invite you to a Party to talk and you both do whatever you were doing. 2. A person could invite you to a Party and Game to talk and play the same game. 3. A person could invite you to a Party then send you a game invite later. Just remember a party invite and a game invite are two separate things. K
