I'm in this weird place where I have no other games for my Xbox One. I just haven't needed any. My daughter has a Disney game, but that doesn't count. I really want to want TTK, but these changes are very bothersome to me. Sometimes I get weak and say I'm going to get it next week after more reviews come out and then I bristle at how these changes have affected players and I snap out of it. So, here's what I say. Reimplement the status quo. Allow players to get one level below the level cap just like Vanilla and just like TDB without end game content. Allow players access to vendor gear. Non-DLC players don't need access to end game content or gear or new missions, that's what the $40 is for and I'm not a greedy man. I've given up on keeping Year 1 content relevant. But I think the status quo needs to be brought back into the mix. Giving Non-DLC players this access stands a good chance of encouraging us to purchase TTK if it really is that good, by giving us a taste of what we are missing. Seriously, removing Non-DLC players from the gamer pool is just a dick move and gives the impression that we are being strong-armed. Personally, this doesn't make me want to buy the content, it actually drives me away.

  • Have they thought about a new player, grabbing a regular copy of destiny and playing this shit everyone is left with? They would probably hate it and be driven away by the lack of anything meaningful. No legendary gear for them to grab in the tower, nothing to work for. They should do as you say as well as put each set of older legendary gear back at each vendor. Taking out marks for non ttk people was truly idiotic as well.

  • Boomer, I'll recommend Mad Max. It is Deep, Brutal, and one hell of a game. It will fill the void left by Destiny.

  • I've played both and they are both great. Mad Max is full on chaotic brutality out the door. Witcher is great but it takes a little while for the story to get really moving. Mad Max got me hooked immediately.

  • I downloaded Warframe and played it for about 15 minutes and it just reminded me of how much I enjoy Destiny. The controls were cumbersome to me and it just didn't seem as smooth or as well designed. Haven't touched it sense.

  • It's a dumb move on their part. As before people would at least log in to play, and eventually people would convince them to get the seasons pass... Now there isn't even a reason to log in.

  • Literally, no reason especially with the nerf of certain Year 1 gear. Why even go played old content if my favorite gear is now weaker than it was two weeks ago?

  • Agree whole heatedly on the dick move, what do you think of this though? @Phil 421 put up a cool idea of a level 34 strike playlist that drops non-ascending year one endgame gear as rewards. I think putting enemies at level 35-36 would provide a decent endgame challenge in lieu of not having a NF or Weekly anymore. It keeps TTK for those with, but leaves a meaningful challenge for those without.

Maybe, but there's a lot of us that don't need or want Year 1 gear. It'd be a decent compromise, but just barely. If they really want to get us into TTK then I think going back to the status quo is the way to go. But I'm open to compromise. EDIT: Also, I doubt Bungie is going to allow TDB and HoW end game gear to drop for people who didn't buy those DLCs.
