It's not an excuse maybe for those who actually dont have it. Are you bipolar? Have you walked a mile in a bipolar persons shoes?

It seems to depend on the medical professional, but many describe it as an extended period of irritability etc. (There are other descriptions). So my personal opinion is it's part of the human condition that our predecessors dealt with and never put a label on it. Sometimes we're angry, and sometimes we're sad/depressed. I think that until we have a much better grasp on the intricacies of the human mind there should be a lot less "syndromes". Just my two cents.
