It's based on what you do best, but if you continuously re-search your Guardian's Legend, the title changes, (although still based on what you do best).

I think it is based off of your best stats. Mine was unconquerable the vaporizer, and my most used exotic is the Mythoclast. Vaporizing for dayz!
