I've had zero issues with the weapon patch other than changing my play style. Kills were just given to me before if I used TLW or Thorn, and they did not require much thought except if the other person died within the 8 bullets you get to spam. Also that random 111 damage precision hit was very....gimmicky to say the least when you 2 shot someone from across the map.
Pulse rifles require some aiming, and even the recoil coupled with aim flinching can throw even the sweatiest Messenger off their game. Using Mida for dueling at long ranges is perfect, but shotguns are still the go to weapon of choice at close range, unfortunately.

There all good reasoning, so do you think that the problem lies in the maps ? with a lot of them being to close quarters & with combined arms being a random weekly thing that we get to use to close quarters being a problem for scouts and snipers?

It's not the maps, although quite a few of them are very close quarters. Most people are still not familiar with the layouts of all these maps to setup situations to counter certain abilities or weapons effectively. A shotgun is going to rule a majority of situations in some maps until people wise up and approach the situation differently. I've always treated certain situations like this and rely on the impatience of my enemy to push them into making a bad decision, like them rushing me with their shotgun in an open area that they can be easily gunned down with a ranged weapon. It's also partially the TTK, which has definitely risen significantly with the loss of Thorn and TLW's dominance at all ranges. Scout rifles and pulse rifles will definitely be the ruling class until a much better auto rifle that has the impact I saw in one of the Destiny streams (was dealing about 34 damage a precision shot and had a similar rate of fire to The Summoner) comes around and makes its way into player hands. Right now were just scrounging with what we can to couple with the changes, but I've always had precision at heart so it didn't really affect me.
