I was messing around with different perk combinations. I have an Unwilling Soul (auto rifle, super high ROF pea shooter) with Focused Fire, Small Bore, and Counterbalance that is a lot of fun.
With Focused Fire it deals more damage than the mid ROF autos and fires at just a smidge slower rate, plus you have the crazy spray mode when not ADS. The range is kinda low but its helped a little by the damage boost and Small Bore. Even after the magazine decrease from Small Bore it still holds 66 shots. Im sad its going to be useless in PvE/Iron Banner next week.

Is iron banner next week?

I just meant that it won't be a viable weapon in Iron Banner anymore after TTK comes out, since its only got 160 attack. I dont know when the next IB is. Sorry if I got your hopes up

I have a similar roll but have Rangefinder instead of Counterbalance. I haven't actually used it since the patch but liked it pre-2.0. Also are you sure it's doing more damage than mid tier impact ARs? I remember comparing mine to Up For Anything and UFA did more damage iirc. It does a little less damage per bullet and shoots a little bit faster. Focused Fire is basically aggressive ballistics in terms of damage increase and I don't think it'd push the damage above the mid tier impact ARs. I've been thinking about rerolling mine and getting perks that take advantage of the mag size (like Crowd Control and Persistence/Glass Half Full with Smallbore or Hand Laid Stock) I also really want High Cal. Rounds as an option. I've been waiting to see what TTK brings before I do that though because the Focused Fire roll isn't bad.

Edited by killerPANDA885: 9/14/2015 3:28:15 AMI just tested it on Earth patrol vs some level 2 Dregs/Vandals. Unwilling Soul with Focused fire does 38 to the body and 94 critical. For The People, the the mid tier Crucible Auto Rifle for The Dark Below did 35 to the body and 87 critical. I don't have numbers to give you for the ROF but its a noticeable change when you switch between the two. Definitely slower fire rate/more damage on the Focused Fire build. Try your build (it sounds pretty good), if you don't like it re-roll later. You can use about 20 motes or so to fully level a weapon if you want to re-roll it later without having to work for the perks. Edit: Forgot, the damage boost translates to about 22 vs 20 damage at the best range for PvP, but the slower fire rate does mean you get out DPS'd up close.
