I've smoked weed multiple times a day since I was 15 and I'm 32. I smoke every day because I want to, I enjoy the buzz. I'm sitting in an airport after being out of the country for 2 weeks and I haven't thought about pot once, I'm not even excited about smoking it when I get home in an hour. Not addictive at all. Maybe the habit, but not the drug. What I have been obsessing over is destiny, and I can't wait to pick that shit up as soon as I walk in the door! Hahaha. Then I'll dab. There's a difference between a habit and an addiction. A big one.
It's an addiction... just because you don't think about 24/7 doesn't mean you aren't addicted. Sorry to break it to you.... you wouldn't last a year with out it.
I stopped drinking alcohol one day, no side effects, but the huge number of alcoholics can say otherwise. Every person deals with different chemicals differently. And withdrawal is different for each person.
Alcoholism is a disease. There are no reported findings of addictive behavior in marijuana. It's all habitual, as arbitrary as biting your fingernails.
I commend you for giving up the bottle though, my dad has been battling alcoholism for 30 years. He's 8 years sober so far.
As with any chemical foreign to your body, such as the main chemical that produces the "High" is a toxin in your body. As with any toxin it would need heavy FDA guidelines and restrictions. As such I am not familiar with all studies done, but what are the long term effects? What can it do to a woman who is pregnant, second hand smoke? Way too many to say its harmless.
