If you're ever in need of an extra gun anywhere, I'm usually free when I'm in destiny. As far as advice goes all I can say is to be aware. 1) look at the screen, all of it, not just the centre. Tunnel visioning yourself at the centre of your screen is an unhealthy bad habit that's taken me a fare few fps games to learn. You need to look out for several things: - enemies at the sides of the screen trying to flank you. - the motion tracker - red lights of snipery death - where your allies are. 2) if you're running some where and an Allie is running with you, turn around and walk away. This can prevent flanking. Of course, if you're unsure or unable to survive on your own, just make sure to, ever once in a while check your six and your corners. Motion tracker doesn't catch everything and you don't have eyes sticking out your arse to check it. 3) watch for player patterns. We're human, if something works well then we'll repeat it. If someone is constantly sniping a certain line or patrolling a certain way. Flank them or catch them off guard. This may not net you a kill, but it can pressure a player into making a mistake or moving positions, clearing that line of mobility. Don't assume they're not coming back, people are habituous, and will return. Conversely, always be unpredictable, or at least varied. If you try one thing, get a few kills, move to another position and switch up. 4) objectives. Capture them and protect them. In control you only need 2 points, after that, 2 fireteams of 3 men can protect the points. The losing team will fight with more men against the cap points, but defending is statistically easier than attacking. 5) use weapons that you're comfortable with. Sure, this weapon might be stronger on paper...on paper. All weapons are viable to kill, if you're comfortable with the gun, you know it better and can weild it deadlier. If you're not comfortable with a gun, then to use it you need to learn it. The higher skilled players will learn guns faster, but if you are just starting out, take that gun you're already accustomed to because you will do better with it. 6) cover. If you're in a gunfight, make sure there's a wall nearby to duck behind if you're low on health. Zoning grenades are a handy help here. If you're low on health the opponent may be dumb enough to try and follow you behind your cover. Put your zoning grenade (lightning/spike/tripmine/vortex/etc) in ana appropriate spot to maximise the amount of entrance you block with a damage deterrent. If you got some shots off on the opponent, they won't risk it. If you didn't, sit back and aim slightly off the doorway to give for reaction time (and back off so shotgunning right around the corner nets a 'whiff' then a kill) 7) communication. If you can talk to people, do so. Tell them if you're altering your routines or if you've cleared a path from a patroller or sniper. This information is critical in the integrity of your defence and offence. If you can't talk, but can listen, again, do so. If neither is an option then you need to make sure you're paying attention to your allies. Where they die, where their markers are on the tracker, what they're doing. Don't try and solo PvP, if you're on your own, move towards allies, if you see someone on their own, move to them for protection. 8) buddy system. Finally, a group of 2 moving as some kind of unit is stronger. Sure they'll net a lot of assists, but, 2 guns are stronger than one, and most of the time, 3 small 2 man fireteams covering the 2 cap points, one fireteam on standby to aid and assist, is a pretty strong setup. If you decide to do this, stay with the player you buddy with. Without mics, just follow someone and keep checking your six, less deaths will occour. Just a few little tips.
