People have been talking about that practically since the game came out. No one really knows what it is, exactly, (that I know of). The general theories are that it was for a "theatre mode" or perhaps for screen captures without the HUD/ UI showing up.

Perhaps. Although with the retooling of the old missions, I doubt it. As for a theatre mode, maybe. I saw an article some time back, (no idea where) that talked about the possibility of Destiny becoming an E-sport. Theatre modes and custom matches generally go hand in hand with such an attempt. But, it will probably not happen until "Destiny 2", if at all.

True, I have a feeling they cheated us with the grimiore...I believe we were originally supposed to get are story through the camera but they got extremely lazy and rushed it out...
