If you feel like you are playing against someone with a poor connection, use the in-game reporting tool to report them.

It was a great connection. Also I left the game. Any advice?

After each game when you return to orbit, you have the option of looking at previous match stats. Find the player and report them if needed. Having a poor connection and "lag switching" are two different things.
