  • This is just something the community is going to have to be patient on. Bungie can't fix something if they don't know about it, so bringing it up is a good start. Because of the way they've bee implementing expansions it makes me think that it's not going to be as easy as turning a switch back on. Unfortunately for new players and those that weren't able to put in the time to complete everything they would have liked, it may not be 100% resolved. If it's important to you, try to use the limited time you have to do what you feel you need to accomplish. If anything, the temporary nature of this game's events should help you realize that time is precious, out of game most of all.

  • Beautifully said last paragraph. Still does not change the fact that other games do not lock content or 100% completion if purchased. I would not like this to become a trend in gaming because it seems like a cheap tactic to command a players attention to their game: take away content because players did not put enough time into their game before the deadline to buy the next expansion...

  • I'm in agreement with most of this. I do feel cheated to a degree with how the updates have been implemented. Given the limited map size, Bungie has decided to use the first two expansions to evolve the landscape rather than provide a larger world to explore. Which, to me is the equivalent of tacking on a one car garage to a house, instead of expanding the neighborhood. However, this new expansion, feels more like what I wanted the game to be when I picked it up. In order to build it into that game, they used a new leveling system to tie the 3 pieces before it into a more linear path. Along the way, they lost a substantial part of the content, but they seem to be offering the newcomers the vision we were promised when we started. To me it's kind of teetering on acting like a subscription based game. I guarantee if I dust off Metroid, it will be the same game and won't cost me a PS+ sub AND an increasingly REGULAR DLC purchase to play it. I feel that if the people at Bungie grew up with games like this, instead of the games they had, they'd have the same bittersweet feeling. I can't see wanting to do this for 10 yrs with this price model, but I haven't been disabused with the game yet.

  • They gave you plenty of time and gave you a warning in the weekly update 2 weeks ago.

  • 2week warning, a warning given only over social media and online forums instead of in game itself, to lock content is not acceptable for something I've paid for.

  • If you can find your way to help forums , then you could have found your way to weekly update news. They never give any game info in game. It should be common sense to come on forums and check weekly updates to see what's going on. Sucks for you but it is what it is. And I'm pretty sure you paid for house of wolves dlc as a whole not just fallen hunted. They removed them like they removed blades of crota.

  • I only check help forums when there's a problem. It shouldn't be my responsibility to check forums every week for "news" to be able to access content I purchased. So you're wrong

  • Common. I have not had the time to play destiny that much after the HOW came out, and now they lock some of the grimoire cards? Max Grimoire should always be a possibility. If the cards will not be available, I will quit the game.

  • I thought I was the only one that felt this strong about this issue. I've been trying to get a real answer on this so I can cancel my TTK preorder if this is the case. I've played since day one. Finally took a break trying to let my anticipation grow for the expansion and they remove content that I paid for and make it unobtainable? That's crazy to me. I just don't understand locking grimoire cards when their whole purpose is to cover the lack of lore and story the game is missing. I hope we get a real answer on this soon.
