Yes, you can tell what is being upgraded and what isn't by going to your exotic blueprints and looking at year two armour, ale very armour that you own in your vault or inventory will show up there on the year 2 armour part of its upgradable

Well that sucks for lots of people. They should just have everything upgradeable.

As bad as what I'm about to say sounds, that would be a terrible idea, imagine trying to do a nightfall in 5 years time and you want one specific exotics, there's going to be like 500 other ones you could get if we get to bring everything with us

Well considering most people end up just buying what they want from xur all they would have to do is increase the amount of stuff xur can sell and there shouldn't be a problem.

Not really if he sells more there's a higher chance to find what you want and increase price since the possibility is higher of you obtaining whatever you wanted. They shouldn't throw out half the crap they used in year one. Especially after they just re-textured some of them and they won't even be in year 2.

You don't carry over guns in games like cod and in actual MMO's you lose your stuff every once in a while for better gear all the time, this is no different
