Wait I thought Wei Ning and toland were killed during eris's venture into crotas domain, I know it at least says that toland was in her group for a fact.

Wei Ning during the great disaster, the vanguards first attempt to retake the moon. Eris created her fireteam some time later, which did include Toland, but we don't know what happened to him

Wei Ning died before that happened. Crota killed Wei Ning, THEN Eris' Fireteam went after Crota.
