This is the update there gonna release the week before ttk launches. The current character level is 20 and its gonna raise to 34 so there giving u a week too increase your character level. Onve trk officially launches the character level raises to 40

Nope it is confirmed in the notes, to get to 40 requires TTK purchase

Hoping that's the case ... as right now their wording can definitely be read as implying the negative alternative of level 34 "for all players", and level 40 for TTK (rather than "for all players" there as well). Further implying a complete lockout from the aforementioned activities and modes unless TTK is purchased. A simple response from Bungie - on any of the threads that are discussing this topic - would have negated three days of forum conflict. I will gladly be wrong on the matter if they would be so kind as to correct my interpretation of the wording.

Dont get me wrong you are right but remember no players were locked out from the cap from how but we shall see.

Yeah and bungie realizes that was a mistake and effected their bottem line. Can't have players enjoying the game without paying every few months can we? Almost like a subscription game...

At least with a subscription game - you go in KNOWING that you'll be paying constantly. That ... and they generally offer this cool thing called "content".

Yup. Bungie somehow is able to skate by without anyone calling them out on their bullshit until well after a dlc launch. Might be where that Activision money is going.. hype train. And paying off the big gaming news companies.
