God Tier Rap/Hip-Hop Albums/Mixtapes

Only the best of the best. I'll post a few now, and continually post, but everyone is welcome to post some good rap. No, I do not care if you dislike rap/hip-hop. This is an appreciation thread, please leave the hate out, and the love for the genre in.

  • Mac Miller may only be known to many from his earlier work, which wasn't very lyrical, and the subject matter wasn't very deep, however, you have been warned, this is not the same Mac Miller. This album is impressive to say the least. Lyrically and sonically, I think this and Faces are Mac's best work. I would honestly put KIDS up there too just because of the nostalgia it gives me from just a couple years ago.

    • I can't really think of a specific album from Big Punisher that was god-like. But if they released a best of Big Pun I'm sure it would be something I'd cop instantly. RIP Big Pun.

        • I think Friday Night Lights by J.Cole was amazing to say the least. Also Enter The Wu-tang (36 Chambers) was a monumental album at the time it was released. I always find my way back to it; the gritty story telling with the chill laid back production present throughout just never gets boring to me.

        • The mixtape that really set Chance The Rapper on the road to fame. Some really impressive word play and unique rhymes here. One of those mixtapes you can just hit play and listen to its entirety without getting bored. For those who have not heard of this mixtape, a fair warning for Chance's spastic "ahh!" that comes up alot during this tape. I could do with less of it, but it's still an interesting, unique element that compiles well with this style of rap.

            AAA - old

B4.DA.$$ by Joey Bada$$, since you've already said 1999. You've also got Tyler The Creator's most recent album, Cherry Bomb. He's really improved and evolved, and this album shows it. Really the only two artists I listen to anymore, since Cole and Kendrick have been absent as of late. You've also got Gambino and Chance with some absolutely fantastic albums. So, I guess you could say this is technically my big 6.
Unrelated, but there's an app for mixtapes. It's called DatPiff.
Quality content. Lots of good albums in this thread. I'll leave recommendations for Angles by Scroobius Pip VS Dan le Sac, E&A by Eyedea & Abilities, and The Undisputed Truth by Brother Ali.

Well to me, it's one of the best Albums released by a female artist and one of the best Hip Hop albums all of time IMO. Easily top 20 or 15.
