In MMOs weapons/gear don't change how you play are any mechanics they just make you stronger. There are some exceptions like gear that makes you more mobile/tanky/ect but overall gear is purely stats.
In DESTINY weapons and exotic Armour pieces change everything from how you move to how you plan and fight.
It's sorta mobaish in destiny how you can swap some weapons or an exotic armor piece and suddenly be a totally different type of badass.

Its nothing to do with weapons or gear. The clue is in the name, its starts with Massively. There is no massively. 16 player instance in the tower? Not massively.
-
It's relative, but I'd rather not argue.
-
Its not relative. A MMO has thousands of potential people on the same server who can meet and dont need to party. Destiny has ONLY instances where a random bunch of people are thrown in but there is a 16 player limit and to actually join a friend you have to group up. There isnt a point in arguing, Im going to be firm, you are wrong and anyone who says Destiny is an MMO is plain wrong, as wrong as someone calling apples oranges.
-
OMG you got me lol you must be some sort of wizard #sarcasm I feel like arguing, destiny is a mmo, have at thee.

Edited by AnaLoGMunKy: 9/1/2015 2:46:25 PMIndeed, I am a wizzard, or something. I can easily tell you why destiny is NOT an MMO, can you prove why it is? The only thing I need to say is, there is no massive multiplayer in this game and the name, MMO, states clearly, massively multiplayer. Fudge it, lets just call all games with small instances MMOs right? So Path of exile, CODs, Battlefields, Battlefronts, Arma, well, all online games with any kind of multiplayer, all MMOs right?
-
Look at vindictus, it's an mmo not much massive there aside from social areas. Which is a laggy shit show if you don't find a near empty channel.

Edited by AnaLoGMunKy: 9/1/2015 2:59:57 PMOk, if you want it straight from the horses mouth Bungie Weekly update Caballero Do you guys ever get tired of people calling it an MMO? Not at all. Do you guys ever get tired of us insisting it’s not an MMO? Debate about this game is always fun, and we welcome it. If I could, I would add a mortal combat "fatality!", and a Unreal Tourney "headshot!" sound effects with this post. A wizzard I am it seems as I can perform magical deeds of valour and even raise the dead.
