Remember when Elites weren't so easy to kill?
R.I.P Halo Lore
English
-
The Covenant are a imitative species not innovative. They'll eventually fall behind.

Arby's Elites are going to be much more armed and armored.
-
It's a cutscene it has the the same rules as a movie, but in this case the cutscene doesn't stay true to what it says in the books
-
Elites get crushed by Spartans in the books too.
-
The books make them sound a lot stronger than the way they get 1 tapped in cutscenes though.
-
This guy gets it.
-
This has nothing to do with the Elites being less skilled, everything to do with the Spartans getting more advanced and more powerful with time.
-
But their elites. I mean come on!
-
The other factor being that Jul 'Mdama's Covenant is closer to being a militia force than a proper, organized military empire like the Covenant used to be; many of his first recruits were living in the space equivalent of rural country. Combine that with the more powerful Spartans and there is a canon sense too the scene. The Arbiter's faction is likely to be far more skilled, pound for pound, as well as the Arbiter himself.
-
Ok, that actually makes more sense.
-
Plus, you know, the entire Covenant military presence is engaging fortified Promethean positions.

Edited by ThatWasntButter: 9/1/2015 5:50:51 AMThe Covenant are disbanding. I would think that all the smarter Sangheili left the Covenant after the lie was revealed. Maybe just smaller ranked troops stayed with their faith no matter what they heard. The lore is not destroyed, but what we are witnessing is the reveal of an even greater Halo universe! We just have yet to see it all! It's only the beginning to a new era.
-
Still wouldn't hurt how they were trained.
-
A dogmatic buffoon still isn't as effective as someone who thinks reasonably
-
Edited by ThatWasntButter: 9/1/2015 3:08:53 PMOf course! But by this cinematic, it is trying to portray that these new spartans are much more powerful. More powerful than they have ever been. I would think it's an opening to a whole new conflict coming up in future canon.
