How does that hype anyone up?
At no point in the game will you ever do something like that in game. Ever.
That is one of the main reasons I hate prerendered cut scenes. They show characters that do things gamers never get to do, which is such a let down and a virtual slap in the face.
Sure, I'm interested in H5, but at no point in the Halo games did I ever feel like a Spartan. Let alone the best spartan ever.

You can do a ton of that stuff, and this cutscene/ music was a beautiful work of art. I've watched it over a dozen times and this is only 1 scene.
-
Just bc we'll have those abilities does not mean it will look, feel, play like that cut scene. I will guarantee you that at no point in the game will you feel like a bad ass Spartan. Sure, the game might be super fun, it might even have a good story, but the fact remains, the video games won't ever make me feel like I'm in the shoes a spartan, like in the books, films, comics display. That is the whole point of this post and previous posts.

You can smash through stone walls Fist smash covies from the sky Assassinations Hijacking vehicles That stuff is pretty badass. Plus, the only way flr the experience to be as fast paced as this would be to add real time gameplay and real time sucks in most situations. Maybe even real time couldn't do it, who knows?

You can do all of that in game except for that roundhouse kick vale does.

Edited by Alfdog: 9/1/2015 10:05:55 AMAll these companies need to do is show a flash cinematic and the "hype" is up for the game. People will all ways add their own ideas about what they'll be able to do in the game as well, without the developer even confirming it, which just adds to the hype. Prime example of this: Destiny.
-
You may not feel exactly like that in game, but halo 5 will certainly make you feel more like a Spartan than the previous ones every did, that's pretty evident.
-
At least Spartans aren't walking everywhere anymore lol! Looking at you guys Halo CE-3.
-
I think it'll still be a while before anyone can experience gameplay that resembles a cutscene.
-
I mean sure the part where (whoever the -blam!- the female Spartan that decimates the phantom is) goes and does all the blocks and dodges can't be done, and nobody could actually match the speed in game, but at the very least they kept it all to abilities that are in the game. And that trailer came closer to resembling the book Halos (in terms of pure destructive capability) than we've seen in a game thus far.

Vale's her name; Sangheili is her game.
-
I can't tell between them yet.
-
Don't say that too loudly, Rule 34 might hear you...
-
I can't stop Rule 34. It's a force of nature.
-
I'm a force a nature
-
I like that.
-
You can actually do a lot of that stuff though.
-
It's more cut-scene than anything we have seen in Destiny to date. It is in engine, with a little polish, but still makes you pumped and can really be something to help get the story across. Hopefully Destiny adds some moments like this, even if is just a pre-rendered cutscene!
-
You need to get laid then it wont seem so bad...the hype will be real then
-
How would getting laid have anything to do with developers creating a fantasy it's players never get to experience? It's called false advertising fanboy and it shouldn't be done. Also thanks for the engaging and mature response. As if there is anything else on these forums...
-
Lol i mean you seem friendly amd intelligent...just a little too uptight
-
I actually hold developers to the standards they set and call out their bs when I see it. It seems like most just enjoy playing the same experiences over and over and over again. What if 343 actually allowed gamers the chance to do what they show in cut scenes? I'd finally be able to know what it feels like to be a bad ass Spartan, instead of some machine that gets destroyed by grunts. Imagine that....
-
False advertising? It's the first cutscene in the game.
-
Meanwhile, all that stuff they were doing in the trailer was via Spartan Abilities and MJOLNIR, which the player has.
-
The player will never have the maneuverability, which is falsely advertised. The player will never be able to live out that power fantasy and that's a huge problem with the series as a whole. At no point did the player ever FEEL like a legendary warrior. Read the books. Those are Spartans. The games show off what is like to be a mindless soldier, morning more. That's my issue with Halo. I love the series, but the games never empower the player to ever feel like a spartan.
The player will never have the maneuverability
We already do. Spartan Abilities In the cutscene players can use: Sprinting Thrust Ground Pound Spartan Charge Stabilizers
which is falsely advertised
How can it be falsely advertised if it's a cutscene in the game?
At no point did the player ever FEEL like a legendary warrior. [b]Read the books. You can't do all the awesome stuff you wish you could do.
