They did the same with vog and Crota hard before as I'm sure many people have said. In destiny, releasing the raid itself has become a sort of event which I think bungie enjoys seeing. With vog and Crota hard, they set a specific release time for people to get their raid teams together and race to be the first team to finish it.
I think bungie is trying to replicate this, where people will b competing to be the first
It is something that the player base has also enjoyed in the past.
With the grind for new gear to be an appropriate level for the raid, no one will be able to beat it right off the bat. This would spread out this race rather than having it as a tighter more concise event with more competition rather than just having the people willing to take a few days off work without sleep to beat it.

I don't see the gripe people have over it being available day one. If you feel you won't be geared to do it that's fine. Don't do it. Plenty of people feel that they will be able to challenge it within 24 hours. What do you care if they do. It doesn't effect you. They however are forced to wait for no given reason. I mean you are arguing about someone else having access to the content so that you can go at the same time???? Why? Them playing it ruins it for you somehow?

Did it look like I was really arguing. I was just providing some justification toward bungie wanting to delay it a little. I couldn't care much less one way or the other but can see the draw toward it being more of its own event in its own

26 levels is not the same as 6 and normal mode was available day one for ce
-
It was only 20. The rest was gained from gear which we will still have to get better gear in TTK. Experience gets exponentially larger with each level so the last 6 levels may b comparable. We won't know until we see in game. Plus we have entire new subclasses to level. Crota normal mode was able to drop at launch because everyone was already at level 30 which was an appropriate level to do normal mode Crota.
-
True but you couldn't even begin to gain that gear till you hit 20 and that fear had to be leveled up to reach max light

Yup this

Well said. I like it.

Only good argument for a delayed release I've heard. This is probably their thinking, I just wish they'd explain it like that
